The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) was founded in 1964 by the late Nobel Laureate Abdus Salam. ICTP seeks to accomplish its mandate by providing scientists from developing countries with the continuing education and skills that they need to enjoy long and productive careers. ICTP has been a major force in stemming the scientific brain drain from the developing world.
The ICTP-Elettra Users Programme is offering a limited number of Grants to cover travel and living expenses of individuals and small groups using beamtime at Elettra, up to two scientists for experiments with less than 12 shifts and up to three scientists for experiments with 12 shifts or more. Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste is a multidisciplinary international research center of excellence, specialized in generating high quality synchrotron and free-electron laser light and applying it in materials and life sciences. Its mission is to promote cultural, social and economic growth through:
- Basic and applied research;
- Technical and scientific training;
- Transfer of technology and know-how.
Data Limite March 15 each year: user period starting from July 1 to December 31; September 15 each year: user period starting from January 1 to June 30.
Elegibilidade Scientists who are citizens of and work in developing countries.
Benefícios The daily allowance per person will be €71.00, reduced by 50% if no lodging is required. The minimum Grant for a long period training will be €1,200.00 per month.
Note: For support of travel expenses, applicants should buy economy tickets or use second class train fares, if possible. Reimbursement will be provided upon presentation of the original ticket stubs.
