Introduction

The journal Acta Paulista de Enfermagem - (Acta Paul Enferm.), ISSN 0103-2100, IS A technical and scientific publication of the Department of Nursing at the Federal University of Sao Paulo (UNIFESP), Sao Paulo, is published bimonthly with the aim of spreading the production of relevant scientific issues of Nursing and related areas.

The Acta Paulista de Enfermagem accept for publication papers prepared by nurses, other professionals of related areas and nursing students, written in Portuguese, Spanish and English, being the papers of the authors under their full responsibility, and not necessarily reflecting the views of the editors of the magazine.

The content of material submitted for publication in the Acta Paulista de Enfermagem should not have been previously published or sent, simultaneously, to another journal. To be published in other places, even partially, requires written approval from the editors. The concepts and statements contained in the paper are the sole responsibility of the authors.

The Acta Paulista de Enfermagem published the article, in English, in the online version. Only when the article was approved for publication, the authors should make the translation to English.

In selecting articles for publication, the magazine evaluates the scientific merit of the work, its compliance with the editorial standards and editorial policies, adopted by the journal. In research involving human subjects should be made explicit (in the text of the article) the approval granted by the Research Ethics Committee of the institution where the research was conducted and the signing of the Free and Informed Term of Consent by participants - these documents should be attached as complementary documents. The articles of assays/clinical research will be assessed only if they had received an identification number from one of the Clinical Assays Registries validated by the criteria established by the World Health Organization and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), which addresses are available at the ICMJE site. The identification number must be registered at the end of the abstract. The number of draws and/or charts/tables should not exceed 5 (five). The number of references should not exceed 35. If these rules are not followed, the item will be summarily returned.

The manuscript should be organized according to one of the sections described below:

Original Articles: research papers with unpublished results and that add value to the Science of Nursing, with a maximum 14 pages. Its structure is conventional, that is to say, containing introduction, methods, results, discussion and conclusion/final considerations on separate items; it will be accepted subtitles added to describe structure.
